PPP will never compromise on national interest, says Naveed

LAHORE: Pakistan People’s Party leader Naveed Chaudhry said the PPP-led government will never compromise on national interest, adding the party has rendered many sacrifices for the country, a private TV channel reported on Friday.

In an interview with Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain in his programme ‘Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain Kay Saath’, Naveed said the PPP government believed in and promoted politics of national reconciliation, adding there were no political prisoners in the country. Meanwhile, another participant in the programme, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s Akram Chaudhry, said the PML-Nawaz had backtracked from its stance of trying former president Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the constitution. He said the Punjab government had failed to control law and order in the province. Another participant, PML-N MPA Dr Zumurrad Yasmin, said her party believed in issue-based politics. daily times monitor
